Farmer's Market

If you aren't familiar with San Luis Obispo, you probably don't know about our farmer's Market. It is a fun, family event. It happens every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.The middle of downtown San Luis Obispo is closed to vehicles . That would be Hiugerra Street, and everyone sets up booths. The first two blocks on the west end are mostly made up of BBQ pits and stores that set up outside. The next two blocks are produce, flowers, nuts, and other healthy food. Then there is a few more food booths at the end. Some restaurants serve dishes only available at Farmers Market, like lentil soup, and the prices are so reasonable.
Another reason everyone is having so much fun is the music. They have local bands playing on some corners. They play a huge variety of music. sometimes it's Jazz other times it's older Rock and Roll. You don't know until your there. Other corners have balloon artists, cartoonist, face painters and puppet shows. I try and go for at least an hour every Thursday. In the summer the days are long and it's light out till almost 9:00 pm. The weather was beautiful last Thursday. I bought a half flat of strawberries for $6.00
If you enjoy people watching, and you like to get out for a late walk, you don't want to miss Farmer's Market.
